Dr. Sara Dodd - Chief of Staff

Dr. Sara L. Dodd earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Illinois and has dedicated more than 26 years to practicing veterinary medicine after spending 12 years as a veterinary technician. As the Chief of Staff and a former practice owner, she brings a wealth of clinical experience, leadership, and compassion to every patient and client interaction.

Dr. Dodd is especially passionate about veterinary dentistry and helping pets live healthier, more comfortable lives. She also deeply values the human animal bond and enjoys building lasting relationships with clients while partnering with them to provide the best possible care for their pets.

Inspired by her great grandmother at just nine years old, Dr. Dodd pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian. One of her proudest memories is having her great grandmother there to celebrate her graduation from veterinary school.

Her approach to patient care is simple. She treats every pet as if they were her own. She believes that compassion, empathy, teamwork, and a strong work ethic are the foundation of an exceptional veterinary team and strives to create a welcoming environment where pets, their families, and the hospital team all work together to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Outside of work, Dr. Dodd enjoys spending time with her partner, walking on the beach, and breathing in the fresh ocean air. She shares her home with her beloved fur pack, including Ella, a Miniature Schnauzer, and Rosie, a French Bulldog, who keep life full of laughter and love.

Dr. Dodd is excited to make Maui her home and serve the community as Chief of Staff at Animal Care & Wellness. She is eager to build relationships with local families and their pets, give back to the community, and become part of the island’s ohana. She also looks forward to both teaching and learning alongside her team as they continue providing exceptional veterinary care.

A fun fact about Dr. Dodd is that she has a great sense of humor, especially when it comes to laughing at herself. She also wants clients to know that just because she is a veterinarian does not mean she has the best behaved dogs.
